PORTRAIT SESSION | TIPS

* RELAX AND BE YOURSELVES

Are you or your absolutely crapping yourself at the thought of having to be in front of the camera? Bloody beautiful! Truth is most people do. It’s not easy to be yourselves and all loving in front of a complete stranger. But guess what? It’s totally not like that at all! Our sessions are so much fun and totally relaxed. Trust me we will be laughing and dancing around before you know it. I try and get to know you guys, who you are as a couple/family and capture all your quirky, cool and totally awesome feels you all share.

* SCHEDULE YOUR SESSION IN THE PERFECT LIGHT

Remember those amazing sunset shots you have adored ever since you started planning your session? Well these come with careful consideration on time. That beautiful golden light you see, it happens in the late afternoon right before sunset and the moments are really fleeting. (Around 5pm in AEST or 7pm AEDST). Have no fear, if it turns out that the day of your session is forecast to be overcast, we will still be sure to get some super beautiful photos too!

*PUT SOME THOUGHT INTO YOUR CHOICE OF CLOTHING

Ok, so in no way do I mean turn up both in denim jeans and white shirts or awkwardly matching outfits, but put some thought into what you guys will be wearing in the session. Stick to a colour scheme pick 2 – 4 colours and play around with tones and textures. Neutral colours are always great. Steer clear of clothing with crazy patterns, logos, fluorescent colours and characters on them. We want the main focus in the photos to be yourselves not your clothing.

* WEAR CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR THAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE IN

We will be doing a bit of walking, dancing around and lots of adventuring so please dress to appropriately. Ofcourse a pretty dress and sandals are an awesome choice and in no way discourage you from dressing up for the occasion – just keep in mind where we will be shooting. Steer clear of wearing clothing that is super uncomfy, too tight or restricting.

* REFRAIN FROM SUNBAKING & SPRAY TANS

Seriously don’t do it. There is nothing worse that a red sunburn, very obvious tan lines and the gold ole’ orange glow of a nasty spray tan. Please just come as you are, being pale isn’t a bad thing.

* BRING SNACKS AND DRINKS

Scheduled for a family session? These hour long sessions can really be taxing on the littles and it wont be long before we here…”Mum, I’m hungry!” or “can we go home now?”. Food will help them stay focussed for the session and allow you to really enjoy the session for what it is.

* MAKE SURE THE LITTLES DON’T SKIP THEIR NAP

We all know how cranky babies/toddlers can get when they are tired and fidgety. Please allow time for them to nap before the session to make the most the session. It can mean the difference between this and that. ↓↓↓
